Old Arlesford 67 lost to Over Wallop 210
Skipper Roy Cavill turned in a complete all-round performance on Saturday as Wallop crushed Old Arlesford by 143 runs.
Wallop's first game of the season started badly, losing two quick wickets. But captain marvel Cavill strode to the wicket and blasted 131, including 21 boundaries and a lost ball in the slurry pit!
The next highest scorer M Richards (22) shared a stand of 82 for the third wicket before he became the first victim of spinner Wilmot, who bamboozled the Wallop middle order to take five wickets, albeit for 105 runs. Debutants J Belbin and D Blakeley pushed the target to 210.
Cavill then caused a problem with the ball, clean-bowling and running out the openers in the first over. He took a catch at slip to give fast bowler Mike Powell (4-27) one of his four strikes. Arlesford then capitulated to the spin of Richards (3-18), and fell well short of the target, being all out for 67.
