SUPPORTERS from two of the south's leading football clubs put aside their rival allegiances for the day to join forces and raise about £800 for charity.
A group of 16 Saints and Pompey fans completed a 22-mile sponsored walk in just over eight hours from Fratton Park in Portsmouth to St Mary's Stadium in Southampton in aid of Whizzkidz.
The children's charity raises money to provide tailor-made mobility equipment, such as powered wheelchairs and special tricycles, for children with disabilities.
The walkers only stopped off twice along the way to rest their weary feet and, of course, to partake of some liquid refreshment.
Organiser and Saints fan Nick Grace said: "It's been a pretty good atmosphere.
"We've had a few horns beeped at us and a little bit of abuse though!
"I have done quite a lot of work for Whizzkidz over the last three years and I thought that because Saints and Pompey are both going to be in the Premiership next season, I wanted to do something to bring the teams together."
