THE mystery Winchester winner of a £170,000 Lotto cash prize has still not come forward, a spokesman for the company said today.
Camelot, who run the national lottery game, made an appeal yesterday for people living in the Winchester area to check their old tickets as 'it could be you'.
The winning ticket was bought somewhere in the city for the draw on Saturday May 3, but as yet noone has come forward to scoop the £167,352 the ticket is worth.
Now finance chiefs at the Lotto think it likely the ticket has either been lost or misplaced, as thousands of winning tickets are each year.
In fact bosses at the Lotto are currently holding more than £39m in unclaimed prizes awaiting the correct tickets, with more than £590m already given away to charities just as the result of unclaimed prizes.
The lucky Winchester winner scooped the 'five numbers plus the bonus ball' prize, with the numbers in question 3, 6, 7, 29, 46, 49 and the bonus ball of 37.
