DOZENS of historical machinery fans flocked to the Twyford Waterworks Trust's open day in the village this weekend.
Steam was the focus of the day, with the trust showing off its latest acquisition, the steam engine and pump from Knowles Hospital at Funtley, which has been handed over to the trust for restoration.
However, the trust, on Hazeley Road, were also celebrating the start of a new steam specialist, Keith Hawkins, who takes over from outgoing steam "hat'' Bill Stone.
The trust now intend to hold open days on the first Sunday of every month up to October with the site and its running steam engines open to all between 10.30am and 3.30pm.
For further details or to join the trust, contact Keith Hawkins on 01962 732964.
