CRAIG David could soon be bringing a new girlfriend home to meet his mum.
The Southampton singing sensation may have left his status as the pop world's most eligible bachelor behind after being linked with Colombian supermodel and TV presenter Sofia Vergara.
Craig and Sofia were seen canoodling at a New Year's Eve showbiz bash at The Opium Garden in Miami.
Sofia, who at 30 is nine years Craig's senior, is one of the hottest properties in the Latin American showbiz world.
A former long-time lover of Enrique Iglesias, she trained as a dentist but gave it up to become a supermodel after being spotted on a beach by a famous photographer.
After appearing in a Pepsi commercial she moved to Miami to begin a successful TV career, hosting shows such as Out of This World, La Bomba and I Dare You, in which she encouraged contestants to perform outrageous acts.
The single mother, who has an eight-year-old son, Manolo, from her marriage to her teenage sweetheart, is also a successful businesswoman.
Her website, featuring pictures of her in various states of undress, averages more than 12 million hits a month and she reportedly sells more calendars and posters in America's Hispanic community than anyone else.
Although her singing talents aren't quite as developed as Craig's, she can certainly keep up with him in the awards department, having been voted Hispanic Woman of the Year in 1999.
In an interview with the Daily Echo last year, Craig admitted he was on a love quest to find a female Charlie Bucket - the hero of his favourite film, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.
"I've met some of the most beautiful girls in the world but I'm just trying to find that equilibrium," he said.
"I'm a very good judge of character so when the right woman comes along I'll know it."
It may be a little early to speculate about marriage and kids but should Craig be interested in raising a family, he's certainly made the right choice in Sofia.
As a child, the Latin star said she was "obsessed" with babies.
Craig's next single, Hidden Agenda, is due for release on January 20.
