TEENAGERS put their brains to solving environmental problems during a two-day challenge at Southampton's Manor Farm Scout Camp.
About 40 youngsters including pupils from Portchester Community School took part in the Kielder Challenge, which was organised by the Fieldfare Trust, a disability charity.
Half of the school's eight strong team who put their problem-solving and team working skills to the test were registered disabled.
Rod Holmes of the Fieldfare Trust commented: "The youngsters get so involved in the problem-solving activities at the heats.
"Communication and teamwork are vital to successfully completing the tasks and it's very hard not to get involved yourself."
The top scoring teams will go through to the final to be held later this year.
