AROUND 35 Southampton boys spent yesterday evening crawling over and under obstacles to help raise money to repair their Scout hut.
The event was organised to celebrate 50 years of Scouting in Shirley Warren, with the Cubs, Beavers and Scouts of 9th Southampton West group taking part in the sponsored obstacle course. They raised over £500 to repair the roof and walls of their hut, in Bindon Road - a former classroom at Regents Park School which has been repeatedly targeted by vandals.
Cub Scout leader Neil Webb is planning to organise a 50th anniversary celebration later this year.
