THE PIER Theatre continues its season of classic comedy this week with a 1950s farce.
Ruth Madoc from Hi-De-Hi, Katharine Monaghan from Footballer's Wives and Michael Tudor-Barnes from EastEnders will be joining forces in this tale of mishaps and mother-in-laws.
Madoc stars as mother-in-law from hell Emma Hornett, whose daughter, Shirley (Katharine Monaghan), is about to get married.
Albert and Shirley are a happy couple but, as with all farces, things aren't set to run smoothly.
Albert discovers that Shirley has agreed to live just three doors away from his mother and sees the only solution to the situation to be not turning up at church - but this is only the beginning of a series of mix-ups and confusions that happen before the day is over.
From drunken escapades, through wailing aunties, hysterical tea-parties and marital strife, plenty of hazards threaten to keep the young lovers apart. Can love conquer all?
Sailor, Beware! is being shown in rotation with Don't Dress for Dinner, It Runs in the Family and Beside the Seaside until July 20.
Tuesday to June 8. Tickets: from £7. Box office: 01202 456456
