AN open day at Twyford Waterworks near Winchester is being held on Sunday.
The site at Hazeley Road specialises in the restoration of old steam engines, and is celebrating its most recent acquisitions, the engine and pump from the old Knowle Hospital at Funtley.
A new "steam" man, Keith Hawkins, has also been appointed by the trust to take over from Bill Stone, who has managed the trust's steam engines since 1976.
The trust plan to run its steam engines on the first Sunday of each month from now on.
