BEN Hazell won the under-20 category in the UK Athletics Rover Combined Events Initiative event in Essex. The Basingstoke and Mid Hants AC athlete claimed 6,706 points to finish fourth overall in the decathlon.
Hazell's performances were: 11.63 (100m), 6.80m (long jump), 10.38m (shot), 1.90m (high jump), 50.59s (400m), 15.84s (110m hurdles), 36.05m (discus), 3.82m (pole vault), 50.20m (javelin) and 4:35.68 (1,500m).
Host club Woodford Green's Brendan McConville won with 7,101 points.
His performances were: 11.64s (100m), 6.75m (long jump), 11.71m (shot), 1.99m (high jump), 50.19s (400m), 15.94s (110m hurdles), 35.78m (discus), 4.62m (pole vault), 47.36m (javelin) and 4min 26.29s (1,500m).
