A STRICT limit on how many speed signs can be erected over a given distance has left Over Wallop residents feeling unsafe to walk on their roads.
Villagers in Over Wallop are concerned about the safety of people walking up and down Station Road because there are no paths, the roads are very narrow and drivers do not take any notice of the speed signs.
Over Wallop Parish Council applied for extra signs but has been told they can't be erected because of the street lighting.
"People are taking no notice of the speed limit and we would like to remind them," said Tony Hope, chairman of the parish council.
A Hampshire County Coun-cil spokeswoman explained this week: "Speed limit signs can only be put up every 200 yards."
