ANDOVER MP Sir George Young launched the sixth annual Monxton Duck Race on Saturday.
Together with the hog roast, the event raised £1,200 for Amport Primary School and Monxton Village Hall.
Local businesses dug deep to come up with prizes for the races and Sir George got the proceedings off to a splashing start.
Racing started from the village green where visitors could enjoy raffles, stalls selling local produce and children's games.
Once launched into the water the plastic ducks began their journey downstream while spectators rushed along Furzedown Lane and into the garden of the Black Swan Inn to see the winners cross the finishing line.
Matt McCann, of the Black Swan, said: "It's always a great atmosphere."
