PARISH councillors in Stockbridge have hit out at an order to close the village's Marsh Path until October for refurbishment.

It will mean tourists and residents miss out on the facility for the summer.

Chairman David Baseley said: "This is the time of year when everyone wants to use it. It's ludicrous."

Issues discussed at this month's Stockbridge Parish Council meeting included:

l A print run of 600 copies of the Stockbridge village design statement has been delivered. Councillors are to distribute a copy to each household and they will also be available to buy.

l Possible traffic calming measures on Old London Road to be discussed.

l The High Street is to be swept again following complaints of dirt and litter.

l Dog waste bins are to be ordered for Test Way and Marsh Path.
