WHAT do footballs, a car, a tandem and the Royal Yacht Britannia all have in common?
The simple answer is they are all in one way or another helping to raise money for the Mayor of Gosport's chosen charities for the coming year.
Councillor Iris Binfield, who was elected as first citizen earlier this month, revealed a host of fundraising ideas for her nominated charities, which this year include the Jubilee Sailing Trust, Rowan's Hospice appeal and Bridgemary School.
Among the money-spinning schemes is the chance for one lucky person to win a Kia Rio car.
Tickets are being sold for people to guess, to the nearest time, how long it will take one of the mayor's chauffeurs to ride a tandem from Gosport to Scotland, where the Royal Yacht Britannia is currently docked.
The nearest guess will win the car.
Fundraisers are also stuffing the car full of footballs and asking people to guess how many they can manage to cram in.
