A GROUP of student doctors have raised £2,000 for young hospital patients and medical research.
Members of Southampton University Medsoc donated £1,000 each to the Hope charity and the children's unit at the General Hospital.
President Umang Patel and charity representative Camilla Anderson led the fundraising charge by organising a quiz night, curry night, slave auction and a fancy dress street collection.
A spokesman for Hope, based in Princes Street, Northam, said the donation would go towards their million pound Healthy Baby Appeal which has a number of aims including finding a cure for meningitis B. She said: "It's a very welcome contribution." For more information on Hope call 023 8033 3366 or visit www.hope.org.uk.
