REGULARS at a Southampton pub turned out for a family fun day to raise funds for a friend paralysed in an accident.
Customers at the Exford Arms, in Harefield, turned out in force to help raise enough funds to buy a wheelchair for their friend and former regular Dave Godwin. Mr Godwin, 34, from Harefield, was paralysed from the waist down in a street brawl just before Christmas.
Inflatable sumo wrestlers, bouncy jousting, chest waxing, face-painting, a raffle and an evening disco had been laid on as locals packed out the pub.
Pub landlord and events organiser Alan Thomas, said: "Everything raised today is going to Dave. We have managed to get £500 and we are hoping to double that once we have counted up."
