HOVERCRAFT racing provided plenty of high-speed action at one of Hampshire's top sports venues.
Scores of competitors from all over the UK took part in the three-day spectacular at the Gang Warily centre in Newlands Road, Blackfield - the second round of this year's national hovercraft racing championship.
The high-speed racing was split into six different classes.
Some of the hovercraft taking part in the Formula One section had in excess of 150bhp, making them capable of more than 80mph.
The Formula Junior class was for competitors aged between 11 and 16 years.
The winner of the junior drivers' event was Matthew Foster, of Plaitford, near Romsey.
Pintail Racing, from Buckinghamshire, won the Formula One event, and David Polfrey, from Cambridgeshire triumphed in the Formula Two races.
The Formula Three contest went to Lewis Webb, also from Buckinghamshire.
Local competitors who did well included Kevin Foster, of Plaitford, Mark Allman, of Hedge End and Bob Beech of New Milton.
