TV PRESENTER Debbie Thrower put her back into it as she warmed up for the Southampton Rotary club's annual Gardener's Fair.
Debbie, who presents TV's Meridian news, was at the city's BUPA hospital in Aldermoor, which is sponsoring the fair, to practise her planting technique.
She will be opening the fair on June 1 at the King Edward VI playing fields in Wide Lane, near Eastleigh.
Debbie said: "I'm an avid gardener and I think it's a great idea because you can do yourself some damage if you do not garden properly.
"It's also a healthy way to exercise."
Proceeds from the fair will be donated to Wessex Heartbeat who promote healthy gardening as a good way to exercise.
Alan Blair, of Wessex Heartbeat, said: "Gardening is very beneficial to your health as long as it is done the right way.
"We are very pleased that Rotary, who we are closely associated with, are helping us in this way."
