TRANSYLVANIAN twins The Cheeky Girls will be giving this year's Power in the Park some extra bite.
The raunchy duo, who leapt to fame in the auditions for TV talent show Popstars The Rivals, were confirmed today as the
latest addition for the free annual pop concert, which takes place on Southampton Common on Sunday, June 8.
Also revealed today, as rumoured in yesterday's Daily Echo, is British boy band Busted.
The Cheeky Girls, aka 20-year-old twins Monica and Gabriela Irimia, have scaled the charts twice in recent months with their singles Cheeky Song (Touch My Bum) and Take Your Shoes Off.
Busted, made up of James Bourne and Matt Jay, both 18, and 16-year-old Charlie Simpson, got together after James and Matt placed an ad in a music paper.
Their hits include What I Go To School For and Year 3000. Fans of the band can get a sneak preview of their act at Portsmouth Guildhall on Thursday.
Busted and the Cheeky Girls join a host of star names already confirmed for the latest four-hour pop extravaganza. They are Blazin' Squad, Billy Crawford, Melanie C, Girls Aloud, Dannii Minogue, Lisa Scott-Lee,
Michelle Branch, Kym Marsh, MisTeeq, Jennifer Ellison and Tripple 8.
The concert runs from 12 noon to 4pm. Read the Daily Echo every day for the latest Power in the Park news.
