SOUTHAMPTON children took on the mile challenge over the bank holiday weekend when they competed in a range of sponsored sporting activities for Macmillan Cancer Relief.
About 100 children competed in a sports fun day at the Chamberlayne Leisure Centre in Weston.
Children aged from five to 15 took part in a range of activities including a sponsored row, a penalty shoot-out, a netball shoot- out, name a bear competition and displays from the Chamberlayne Gymnastics Team and the Shaolin Temple.
