Dozens of local business people donned big hats and ate sausages at The Royal Southampton Yacht Club - all in aid of the NSPCC.
The sixth annual Big Business Breakfast once more proved an enormous success with serious business people eating a serious breakfast but dressed in a silly hat and playing silly games.
This year's breakfast raised more than £2,000 for the NSPCC, bringing the total raised by The Southampton Corporate Support Group to more than £50,000 for the charity over the last six years.
The campaign, designed to 'end cruelty to children, full stop', is the most ambitious undertaken by the charity in its 100-year
history. The initial stage of the campaign alone is expected to cost around £250m.
Rosemary Penn-Newman, a partner with Southampton corporate financiers Fanshawe Lofts, and an NSPCC committee member, says: "The NSPCC is a charity close to the hearts of local business people and any event we organise is always supported incredibly well. We are delighted with the support we have received this year for this worthwhile cause."
