A Romsey hospital worker is appealing for celebrities to help raise funds for new maternity unit equipment.
Maternity unit social secretary fundraiser Di Maggiore said that the baby unit needed new resuscitation equipment costing about £5,000.
"We need to update the whole unit and it's likely to cost thousands. The hospital's League of Friends' do help us out but we still need help. We are going to ask the health authority for help. Years ago mums' never had their first baby at the hospital but they can now providing they are not at high risk," said Di, who is leading the campaign to update the four-bed maternity unit.
A number of Romsey-based companies donated prizes for an Easter draw held in aid of the maternity unit.
And in a bid to raise more cash to help the unit, a jumble sale is planned for Saturday, June 1st. This will be held at the Abbey United Reformed Church between 10am and midday.
Di, said it would be nice if celebrities who live in the area joined in with the fundraising project.
Anyone who can help Di is asked to contact her direct on Romsey 501499.
ROMSEY Hospital is keen to trace photos of babies born there.
Di Maggiore, from the maternity unit, said the photos are needed for the department's Romsey Carnival float in July.
The photos will be positioned around the float.
Di, the maternity unit's social secretary fundraiser, said: "What we want is old photos of people who were born or stayed with us during the hospital's long history. We need them at least a fortnight before the carnival. People need to go and look in their lofts and attics to see what they can find."
Anyone who has old photos is asked to contact Di on Romsey 501499.
