The International Topper Class Association was in high spirits after two key events on the Southern Traveller Series circuit.
Portchester and Calshot sailing clubs both held racing in the vivacious conditions either end of the Solent.
Of 23 competitors, five were Calshot sailing club members.
The youngest was nine-year-old Karen Thomas, with Adam Hilton, 11, Rory Coupar, 13, Samantha Gray, 13, and Sean Hilton, 15, all flying the flag for the home club.
In a frisky south-westerly race, Alain Sign from Stokes Bay SC led a pack of six-strong dinghies off the race one start line - and held on to his lead.
Race two was more open in the big waves and kept a horde of spectators on land straining through their binoculars to see.
A third race proved too ambitious in the building breeze and the day closed with local Calshot club member Sean Hilton taking fifth prize.
Some good local support boosted the event - from Hythe Marina, Solent Sailboards, Kings Volvo Southampton and BT.
