SELECTION from the Volvo RYA Keelboat Programme will be completed by June, and this year's Round the Island Race will see the newly chosen crew aboard Volvo for Life Team Tonic competing together for the first time.
On this special occasion, coaching will be on hand from Olympic gold medallists Ben Ainslie and Shirley Robertson as well as Laser champion Paul Goodison, tipped to follow in Ben's footsteps at the next Olympics. The crew will be joined by a camera team covering the race for BBC Grandstand, which will be broadcast the following day.
A television team will also be following presenters Ania Dykczak and Fran Beauman from the children's programme "Bring It On" when they compete in the RIR on June 21st. Their challenge is to go from to go from absolute beginners to keen competitors in just one week!
