TADBURN (Youth) FC held their annual awards ceremony on Friday 16th May at the Crosfield Hall in Romsey.
Newly-elected chairman Dave Haycock thanked the outgoing chairman, Matt Simpson, managers, secretaries, parents and especially the players for their efforts over the season.
The club ran ten teams across the Under 8 to Under 15 age levels over a successful 2002/03 season. Over a hundred players collected their awards during the evening.
Special mention was made of the Under 13s, who won their division of the Tyro League. Divisional Fair Play awards were also achieved at Under 10 and Under 12 level. The Under 15s completed a fourth consecutive season in the First Division of the Tyro League and their manager, Paul Jupp, was presented with a long service award for his services to the club.
The prestige players' vote for the best player in each side went to Jacob Connolly, Sam Barrett and Matt Johnson (Under 8), Nicholas White (Under 9), Josh Codling and Ashley Mould (Under 10), Sam Vidler and Lawrie Dwyer (Under 11), Adam Beston (Under 12), Matt Renouf (Under 13) and Kieron Lakeland (Under 15).
The final event of the club's season will be its annual six-a-side tournament, sponsored by Borcombe Printers, on the weekend of June 21st at Mountbatten School.
Eight age group competitions will be held over the two days, involving over a thousand players from the Southampton area in the biggest annual sporting event held in Romsey.

Tadburn (Youth) FC will be holding a Training Session at 10.30am on Saturday, May 31st at Mountbatten School. Boys and girls aged 7 to 14 are welcome, with places especially in the Under 8 team for next season. For further details contact Dave Haycock on 01794 517868.
