AN Andover firm has deployed the latest piece of technology to Singapore as part of the fight to control Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) in hospital wards.
Bioquell, which is based on the Walworth Industrial Estate and develops bio-decontamination technology, has been awarded a contract by Parkway Group Healthcare Ltd, Singapore's leading private hospital group, to bio-decontaminate parts of their hospitals as a preventative measure.
This latest piece of technology is the Clarus R hydrogen gas generator - a fast, highly effective and safe method of sterilising hospital rooms and medical facilities.
With the ongoing threat of SARS throughout Asia, this contract will provide health workers with the reassurance that they have the most micro-biologically clean rooms and wards in the world.
The new technology is also highly effective against combating anthrax spores and talks between Bioquell and leading military organisations are ongoing as part of the fight against terrorist attacks.
