AFTER suffering two heart attacks and undergoing surgery an Andover man has completed a sponsored swim and raised money for the local branch of the British Heart Foundation.
Laurie Broadhurst, aged 75, of Nestor Close entered the sponsored swim with niece Laurie Burnell and raised £340.
Mr Broadhurst now swims 20 lengths everyday, works in his gardens and plays the percussion for the Andover Music Hall Society.
He is living proof that heart attacks can be overcome and that a positive attitude can bring a new quality of life. "The British Heart Foundation do a grand job," he said.
