THE Hampshire FA have organised their first-ever girls football six-a-side tournament on May 31 in Christchurch.
The event has attracted many girls' teams from across Hampshire including teams from Southampton, Portsmouth, Aldershot and the Isle of Wight.
The event is sponsored by British Telecom.
Charlotte Brown, of the Hampshire FA, said: "After a slow start, the entries have come flooding in.
"We are delighted with the interest in this the first tournament and hope to build on this for next season."
The tournament will be spilt into two age groups, under 12s and under 14s. There are 18 under 12s teams.
For teams who go out after the group stage there will also be a plate competition.
The competition will start at 11am and the finals will be played at approximately 4.30pm, after which the winners trophies will be presented by Martin Turner, President of the Hampshire FA.
