IN tandem with this week's Chelsea Flower Show, south coast nursery Golden Acres has introduced the latest variety of sambucas at its Hampshire garden centres.
It introduced the sambucas nigra at its retail centres on Monday. It is a member of elder family and is a large shrub high with purple feathery leaves, which gives it a black appearance when viewed from a distance.
"It promises to be one of the most significant plant launches this year," said Simon Edwards, retail director of the Landford centre. It is also available at Cadnam Garden Centre, Cadnam, which was recently acquired by the Golden Acres Nursery Group.
