CHARLOTTE Marsden produced a late surge to win the under-17 women's 800 metres in the UK Young Athletes' League at Southampton Sports Centre in two minutes 30.3 seconds.
It was part of a superb all-round team performance from her club, New Forest Juniors, who took third place overall behind Poole Runners and Winchester & District AC.
Marsden, however, had to settle for second place in the 300m (44.9), while Jade Davies won the B string in 48.8.
Hollie McManus, who took under-17 300m gold at the Hampshire Championships the previous week, was runner-up in both the 100m (14.2) and 200m (27.6), while the 4x100m relay quartet of Carly Holder, Marsden, McManus and Emily Sanderson proved unbeatable in 52.9.
There was more relay success in the under-13 girls' category where Chloe Foot, Christina Parsons, Tiffany Markham and Aishling Kerr triumphed in a club record 59.4.
In the under-15 age-group, Charlotte Bates set a personal best of 5.36.0 in the B 1500m despite having to contend with blustery conditions.
