FORMER Steps singer Lisa Scott-Lee has been announced as one of the stars of this year's Power in the Park pop concert.
Lisa and fellow chart star DJ Sammy are the latest acts revealed for the free event, due to take place on Southampton Common on Sunday, June 8.
The 26-year-old singer first stormed the charts in 1997 as part of pop group Steps. The bubbly outfit scored a string of upbeat hits but split last year.
Lisa released her debut solo single, Lately, last week and helped promote it with a personal appearance at Jumpin' Jaks nightclub in Southampton's Leisure-World.
"I'm not ashamed of anything I did in the past but I think it is time to look at the here and now," she said.
DJ Sammy had a recent hit with his club remix of Boys of Summer.
Lisa and DJ Sammy join the six names already revealed for this year's line-up - Melanie C, Girls Aloud, Kym Marsh, Mis-Teeq, Jennifer Ellison and Tripple 8. The rest of the line-up for the event will be revealed over the next two weeks.
Organised by radio station 103.2 Power FM, the ninth annual concert is expected to attract more than 50,000 pop fans to the Common between 12noon and 4pm.
