A LOCAL footballer has been suspended for 182 days.
Derek Thompson has been handed the massive suspension by the Hampshire FA for offences during a Pitch Invasion five-a-side league match.
Thompson was playing for FC Pie Ezpintos against Athletic Madras when the offences occurred.
His suspension started on April 4 and runs until June 1, and recommences on September 1 until January 6, 2004. He was also fined £100 costs.
Other suspensions dealt with by the Hampshire FA in the week leading up to Friday, May 9 were as follows:
Club official David Barrett of Granley Rovers was warned as to his conduct after acting in an official capacity while being under suspension on a Southampton Tyro League match against Testwood United.
Gary Frost of Grantham Arms (Downton) was warned after playing in a Winchester & District Sunday League match against Jasmines Heroes while suspended.
Club official David Jones of Lymington & New Milton (Sat) was severely warned after misconduct during a Jewson Wessex League match against Brockenhurst.
Club official Tony Leach of Whitchurch United Youth was warned after misconduct in a HSA Youth League match against Castledown SC Colts.
Sainsbury Staff Association were warned after playing Shane Fretwell against Hook Rangers in a Basingstone & District League match while he was suspended.
St Helena Bobs were severely warned after playing George Wallace against Portchester in a Portsmouth Saturday League match while he was suspended.
St Helena Bobs were also fined £100 after misconduct by club members caused a match against University of Portsmouth to be abandoned.
