Hampshire are back in contention for the South East League title after a hard-fought 7-5 victory over Dorset at Hayling Golf Club.
The defending champions had to win after losing their first match against Kent and thanks to solid performances from their top three players, squeezed home.
It was nip and tuck after the morning foursomes ended all square, then David Porter, Martin Young and Ryan Henley took the first three singles to put Hampshire in control. The skipper Kevin Weeks and young Mark Thistleton, with a win over the highly-rated Ben Harvey, saw them home.
