THE colourful excesses of the world's most famous rock 'n' roll band are honoured in a spoof tribute show at The Anvil, Basing-stoke, next month.
In celebration of the Rolling Stones having made it to their 40th anniversary, their spoof counterparts, The Counterfeit Stones, will be putting on a lavish show that threatens to make the real thing look like a Sunday school outing.
The Naughty Licks tour is billed as a delightfully tongue-in-cheek "mockumentary" of the Rolling Stones history from 1963 to 1981 and depicts the band's heady growth from basement blues band to international outlaws.
The music, from the jungle drums of Not Fade Away to the anvil clang of Start Me Up, is only the half of it.
If you've ever wondered what Mick and Keith would be like hosting a cookery programme or taking part in an instant food ad with robots, The Counterfeits promise to reveal all in a series of spoof film clips designed to cover the set and costume changes.
The Stones' changing fashions are there in all their gaudy glory, from Italian bum-freezer jackets and Cuban heels to floppy flares and Mick's personal favourite - pink satin and mascara.
You can see The Counterfeit Stones at The Anvil on Thursday, June 12, at 7.45pm. Tickets cost £14.50. Box office: 01256 844244.
