ALTHOUGH one Hampshire couple spent much of their wedding day clowning around, the vows they took were certainly no joke.
Woolston-based clowns Crazy M and R-Jay, of Laurel Close could think of no better way to tie the knot than to have a clown-themed wedding at the city's register office in Bugle Street.
And because their big day clashed with the FA Cup Final, the couple saluted the Saints by arriving in blue and yellow limousines and wolfing down their post-wedding lunch in time for kick-off.
"We make each other laugh and we met as clowns, so a clown wedding seemed the perfect thing to do," said Crazy M, 27.
Her husband, R-Jay, who claims to be "eleventeen", said: "When we decided to get married and thought about whether to have a clown wedding we just thought 'lets go for it!'".
The couple married in special clown wedding outfits to the sound of circus music in front of their family and friends, including 17 clowns who travelled from across the country to be there.
The bride held a balloon bouquet and guests munched on children's party food at the reception.
"We are both Saints fans so we stuffed our food down and had no long speeches so we could watch the football at the reception," added Crazy M.
An adult bouncy castle, face painter and giant games were there for the guests to play on in the evening and the couple, who are well known throughout the region for their "Krazy Kapers" double act show, performed a ten-minute sketch act.
