Arsene Wenger has confirmed that David Seaman will lead out Arsenal for the FA Cup final as captain.
Seaman has been passed fit for tomorrow's final despite having missed training until yesterday due to a stiff neck.
The 39-year-old Arsenal vice-captain will skipper the side in the absence of Patrick Vieira, who is ruled out of the game along with Sol Campbell, Pascal Cygan and Francis Jeffers.
Wenger confirmed Seaman's fitness but refused to say whether the final would be the last game for the man dropped by England. "David Seaman is fit and will captain the side for the FA Cup final," said Wenger. "Frankly, I don't know whether it will be his last game for Arsenal though.
"I'm not in a hurry to make such a decision as I will offer him a job here anyway.
"It's not like he will be unemployed tomorrow.
"We start training on July 8 and I know he will be here. In which position though, I don't know.
"I've other worries at the moment, as he does.
"At the moment, I think he feels that he can still go on and I can completely agree with that, but we have agreed to play the Cup final and then sit down and talk afterwards.
"I had a chat with David to speak about the future but in the last few years, we've always done his contract when he came back for pre-season training.
"But if I was going to make the decision that he was not going to be the automatic number one any longer, then I would respect any decision that he made."
While Seaman, Ray Parlour and Martin Keown have been passed fit for the Cup final, Wenger still has doubts over Oleg Luzhny and Lauren.
Both will undergo fitness tests and the Arsenal boss is probably only prepared to take one risk with his line-up.
"I will take as few gambles as possible. That means one but maybe not two or three. Whether it's Luzhny or Lauren, I will see how they react," he said.
If Lauren wins the vote, then Igors Stepanovs may partner Martin Keown, but if Luzhny is selected, he could play in central defence and Kolo Toure would come in at right-back.
Wenger must also decide on Dennis Bergkamp or Sylvain Wiltord up front and either Wiltord or Fredrik Ljungberg on the right flank.
