KYM MARSH and Mis-Teeq are among the latest acts to be announced for this year's Power in the Park pop festival.
The former Hear'Say star and the all-girl R'n'B group join Melanie C and Girls Aloud, announced last week, in the line-up for the free pop festival, which takes place on Southampton Common on Sunday June 8.
Also announced today are former Brookside actress Jennifer Ellison, who has just launched a solo pop career with her cover of the 80s Transvision Vamp song Baby I Don't Care, and up-and-coming band Tripple 8, who were signed this year.
Other acts to appear on the day will be announced in the next two weeks. Radio station Power FM, who run the popular annual event, are continuing to run a phone poll to gauge the acts that people want to see.
Now in its ninth year, the concert is expected to attract more than 50,000 pop fans to the Common 12 noon midday and 4pm.
Kym Marsh split from Hear'Say in last year and shot to the number one spot with her single Cry. Still in the spotlight thanks to her marriage to ex-EastEnders star Jack Davenport, she is working on a more mature guitar-based sound.
Mis-Teeq are made up of Alesha, Sabrina and Su-Elise and reached number two earlier this year with Scandalous. They wowed a TV audience of millions at last year's Queen's Golden Jubilee Concert.
"Signing up Kym Marsh and Mis-Teeq is fantastic. They are big names with a really wide appeal," said Power FM marketing controller Sophie Fenning.
"Also, securing Jennifer Ellison and Tripple 8 adds real depth to the party atmosphere. It will be a great day for music fans who want to enjoy themselves."
