GOOD humour is helping to raise money for a good cause as Bishopstoke Players present a comedy in aid of the NCH children's charity.
Their spring offering is the excellent Local Affairs by Richard Harris.
The plot revolves around three couples who live in a supposedly superior housing development. Will Susan stop worrying about her twins? Will Hilary stop her interfering mother-in-law reorganising her house? Will Charles ever decide what to wear to the fancy dress party? These questions and more are raised in this frenzied, fast moving comedy.
Making their debut in leading roles are Sarah-Jane Chase and Kevin Bowers.
Director Chris Shehan says: "As well as the pace of this show, the set has been a challenge as it is a 'split personality', with a bedroom, kitchen and living room that are all inter-related yet represent the different houses."
Bishopstoke Players have been raising money every year since 1947 for the NCH, formerly the National Children's Home, with each production sending around £1,500 to help less fortunate children.
May 16-17, Bishopstoke Memorial Hall. Performance: 7.30pm. Tickets: £4.50. Box office: 023 8061 4188.
