Gosport Amateur Operatic Society ride into town with their production of the hit musical Calamity Jane this week.
Set in the gun-toting Wild West of America, the show stars 19-year-old Becky Cordell as tomboy Calamity. Becky has been with the Society since she was 13.
"It's great playing a part where you are one of the lads. There's been a lot of lines to learn and songs too but it's worth it," she says.
The Gosport receptionist is recovering from having a tumour removed from her knee, yet still manages to dance and sing her way throughout the show, which features classic numbers such as Secret Love and Woman's Touch.
Andrew Burnish, an accomplished member of the society, stars alongside Becky in the male lead of Bill Hicock.
Tuesday May 20 until Saturday May 24, Ferneham Hall, Fareham. Performance: 7.30pm (Saturday matinee at 2.30pm). Box office: 01329 231942.
