AN Andover man has thanked RSPCA staff in Salisbury who came to his rescue after he found a 3ft American corn snake in his bedroom over the weekend.
The Artists Way resident, who asked not to be named, woke up on Saturday morning to find the reptile beside his bed.
He said: "I got out of bed and thought I was dreaming.
"There was a big snake staring at me!
"I quickly left the bedroom and phoned the RSPCA.
"They turned up later and caught it with a net after moving the wardrobe.
"The RSPCA officers did really well."
The snake is being looked after by the RSPCA, but it's believed it may belong to a neighbour and could have been in hibernation after getting in to the house through an open window!
