WHITCHURCH mayor Barry Jackman was re-elected for a second term as town mayor and chairman of the town council at the annual meeting on Monday.
Cllr Roy Dykes was elected as deputy mayor and chairman. As Whitchurch did not make its full complement of councillors in the recent parish elections, there are two vacancies which may be filled by co-option within 35 days of the election date.
The chairman would like to hear from anyone who is interested. All that is needed is a letter containing the person's details and a statement outlining why they would like to become a councillor.
Letters should be sent to the town clerk Cathy Burt at the Town Hall by 30 May.
Applications will be considered at the full council meeting on 2 June.
