A SPECIAL fund set up in memory of a Testway Housing warden in Andover to give peace of mind to people convalescing after a stay in hospital has been boosted by members of her family.
The Testway Community Lifeline Fund, set up by Testway Housing in memory of Rose Galpin, who died suddenly last year, has been extended.
Ray Galpin, Rose's husband, and their two sons have raised £300 with Andover's Picket Piece Football Club, where Ray is chairman.
The money will buy and support two more lifelines or 24-hour emergency call systems.
Five have already been bought using the fund.
Everyone in Test Valley discharged from hospital will be offered the service free of charge for the first four weeks if they are referred to the fund by health professionals.
Mr Galpin said: "Rose would have approved of the fund, she was so caring. This is a fitting tribute."
Staff at Testway Housing where Rose worked for 13 years are also raising money for the fund.
James Lampard and Heather Watson, from the supported housing team where Rose worked, are training for a sponsored parachute jump and a raffle held at a recent staff event raised £90.
Residents at Rosalind Hill House in Stockbridge, a sheltered housing scheme run by Testway Housing, have also donated money they raised throughout the year by holding various sales.
