Refuge, Winchester Prison
A THING of beauty was revealed this week in the unlikely setting of Winchester Prison.
Behind the walls and barbed wire, a play called Refuge received its premiere.
It was performed by inmates from the West Hill women's annexe and drama students from King Alfred's College.
Playwright Dawn Garrigan has created a work that manages to explore issues in the penal system and be unsettling and genuinely moving.
It was excellent.
