FORMER television presenter Angela Rippon will be making the news rather than reading it when she officially re-names the UK's latest cruise ship in Southampton tomorrow.
Angela is due to perform the ceremony on board the 12,500 ton ship alongside the Queen Elizabeth II Terminal in the city's Eastern Docks.
Guests invited to the ceremony will be given a conducted tour of the vessel and attend a gala lunch on board Saga Pearl before Angela re-names the ship.
Previously known as Minerva, the ship has been chartered by Saga Shipping between May and November for the next three years and will be operated together with the company's other vessel, the 24,474 ton Saga Rose, a regular caller to Southampton Docks.
