THE SKILLS which made Brazil the world's soccer masters are being passed on to youngsters at Eastleigh.
Kickers Indoor Sports Centre at the Barton Park Industrial Estate has become the south's soccer academy for Futsal - a Brazilian football skills competition.
And Eastleigh's budding young Pele's are learning so fast that they recently returned triumphant from national competitions in Lincolnshire.
Two teams of eight year-olds scooped the top places by beating off competition from hundreds of teams.
Kickers Sports Raptors came first and Kickers Sports Tornadoes came second.
They were the only teams from the south taking on tough northern opposition.
After a six-and-a-half- hour coach journey, Eastleigh's soccer starlets soon got into winning action.
And they proved that when it comes to football the south can be as good as or even better than the north.
Kickers' managing director Julian Allen said: "It was a massive achievement."
