DREAMS came true for four girls from the Dynamo School of Gymnastics last weekend at the National Club Grade Finals. The quality quartet made up the Southern Region team competing in Kettering for the national title.
There were 12 teams, one from each region in Britain, and the competition was hot. But the Dynamo girls came away with a bronze medal.
Romsey youngster Natasha White had qualified for the finals by winning the regional championships and went on to finish eighth in a strong field of 48 gymnasts.
She scored over nine on three pieces of apparatus, but an unfortunate fall on the beam left her with a score of 36.30 - just 0.50 of a mark shy of third place.
Joining White in the team were Emma Beales, Jamie Skinner and Amy Ross, who all achieved personal bests on the day.
The Southern girls finished in bronze medal position with 107.875 marks behind London (109.30) and the South West (109.250).
"The team deserved their place on the podium," said Dynamo's coaching director Debbie Hampton. "The standard is always very high with very few mistakes being made."
