As one bank holiday weekend melts away the second is almost in sight.
Still not made plans for the Monday? This year's Glyn Charles Pursuit Race takes place on May 26 at Hayling Island Sailing Club and will be a great way to come and meet, sail with, and remember some sterling young sailors such as Olympians Glyn Charles and John Merricks.
All dinghy classes are welcome and small keelboats can be accommodated. Entries from Optimists, Fairy Ducklings and Asymmetrics to the K6, SB3, 1720s and Ultra 30s are swelling the line-up already.
Proceeds will be donated to the John Merricks Trust, a charity which Glyn Charles actively supported.
As if any nudging along were needed, some tempting prizes have already been donated including wetsuits and waterproofs to the value of £1,000 from Gull in association with BA Peters.
There's a Sunsail holiday for two in the Med on offer, six months subscription and sail simulator software from Yachts and Yachting and two free subscriptions from The Daily Sail.
The list is growing. But remember, you don't need to be on the podium to be a winner!
The first gun is at 10.30am. Contact Hayling Island Sailing Club on 02392 463768 to register.
