Shirley Robertson's Team Volvo Yngling Olympic campaign crew from Portsmouth lost one of its member this week when Inga Leask quit for health reasons.
Leask has spent the last 18 months as part of the very successful three-women Olympic Keelboat Team alongside fellow crew member Sarah Ayton.
Having spent a very intensive and productive winter testing and training in Spain with Yngling World Champion Monica Azon, this has come as a blow to the team.
Their hard work in training paid off with the team winning the first two major Olympic regattas of the season in Barcelona and Palma earlier this month.
They have identified some strong candidates to join the Yngling team, and with Inga's help, hope to train the new member swiftly and resume competing on the international stage at Spa later this month.
Leask said: "Leaving the boat has been the hardest decision of my life but, for the sake of the team, I know it's the right thing to do.
"My plans are now to support the team in any way I can and to continue my involvement with the sport through my work with Fast Track's Sailing Division."
Robertson is sad to lose Inga from the team.
"Inga has been a key part of our current success and together we have learned how to sail the boat to a world class level," she said.
"After a very productive winter's training and, with the benefit of Inga's input into the campaign, our goals remain unchanged. The World Championships and Olympic Trials in Cadiz this September remains our main focus for the year and is well within our reach."
