THE River Way/ Pilgrims Way community centre project is back on course after a financial blip earlier this year.
The scheme ground to a halt in February when the most favourable tender, from Messrs Drew Building Contractors, came in at £457,382 - more than £106,000 over budget.
Members of Test Valley Borough Council's executive heard that officers carried out a savings exercise.
A new approved budget came to £395,000 and a revised tender was received of £433,000 - still £38,000 over the budget.
Members of the executive agreed the budget should be increased by £38,000 to meet the shortfall.
The news will come as a relief for project leaders who were disappointed when a planning application for the proposed new Way Out Club was withdrawn because of the budget problem on the day it was due to be discussed by planning councillors.
