RUBBISH which amounted to a total of 30 bags was removed from Andover's Anton Lakes nature area by Testway Housing's spring-cleaning green team.
The group of volunteers, who help improve the environment near where they live, spent the day removing everything from old bikes, abandoned trolleys, bits of carpet and even discarded dirty nappies.
To help them in their cleaning quest, the 22 children and adults were given protective clothing and equipment by Test Valley Borough Coun-cil, who also provided a light lunch. The hard workers were rewarded with a certificate of appreciation.
The green team is an initiative run by Testway Housing.
The team links with other agencies and local people, particularly children, to improve the environment around homes owned by the social landlord.
